Sin and Punishment
Sin and Punishment has to be one of the stragest games that I have ever played. Of course, I have played StarFox 64, the exact counterpart to this game. Basically, this is StarFox on foot. Or you can call it a third-person shooter. I don't have much to say on what this game is about because I don't have much of a clue myself, but I know that I was blown away by the action sequences and graphics for an N64 game. This game is fun regardless of whether you like shooters or not and this is an experience you are not going to want to miss. The only problem with this game is that it is rather short. I mean REALLY short. It took me around an hour to finish this and there is not much content to go back for. It is your choice whether you spend twelve dollars on this, but I would if I were you.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty
If you happen to ever see Hideo Kojima, be sure that you thank him for me. To explain Metal Gear Solid 2 may be the hardest thing that I will ever do in my life, but i'll try. Metal Gear Solid 2 is the sequel to the most effective blend of cinema and game released in 1998 for the PlayStation. This fantastic entry upgrades everything that made the first game so popular by utilizing the PlayStation 2 to create incredible motion-capture animations and effects. The controls have seen a makeover also. MGS's control is a bit overwhelming at first, but a few hours in the controls feel like the best any game has to offer. One reason why the controls are so unfamiliar at the beginning of this game is that throughout the game, you will aquire new weapons and items that you will use by using one of the control options that you will use for something else. Instead of having long tutorials at the beginning of the game, you learn the controls throughout without even knowing it. It works perfectly. Metal Gear Solid 2 has one of the best story, casts, and locations in any video game to date. The hero of this story, and a new character, Raiden, now stands near the top of my list of my all time favorte video game heroes of all time. Overall, this is one of the greatest games of all time in terms of story, graphics, and innovation. No, in all of its areas, this is one of the greatest games of all time.

Goof Troop(SNES)
It's true that if I reviewed this game back in the SNES days, I would probably given it a perfect score. It's not that this game isn't any good to play today, it's just that it wasn't as good as I remembered it. You'll still love the co-op antics, and the joy of picking on the enemies, but this game really shows how far Disney has come in the past few years, and not for the better. Capcom could have easily made a succesful series out of any Disney property with this formula if such a compelling property existed from Disney. They easily chose the best, because I don't think this game would work with Hannah Montana. Anyway, this game works exactly like Zelda with an overhead view and sort of dungeon exploring alone or via co-op with a friend. However, it is a Disney game and we know from Kingdom Hearts that Disney does not
like it's characters to wield weapons, so instead the characters are able to pick up and/or carry objects such as pots to throw at enemies or complete certain puzzles. There are also items for use in the game such as boards used to cross rivers, lanterns used to see in the dark, and my favorite: the shovel used to dig up treasure. In many's eyes, Goof Troop remains one of the best licensed games ever and one of the best games of the SNES era. I have one thing to say: I agree.

StarFox 64(N64)
This game is incredible. I cannot for my life figure out how Nintendo can design a franchise so finely crafted and so emotionally moving that it seems like it should have been made ten years from now.
The basic layout of the game is objective based. There are 15 levels in all, but you won't be able to reach them all in one playthrough. Instead, you are able to complete certain objectives to advance across a certain path. You, eventually end up at one final planet. But, ther are two sides to the final planet. You end up on a side depending on the path you take. One side holds the real final boss and one side holds a mechanical fake boss. Nintendo has done a great job with making sure you take the right path to see the full story.
Another innovative concept is the addition of two new vehicles, the Submarine and the Landmaster. The Landmaster allows you to fight while on the ground while the Submarine allows you to do the same with water. One problem is that there is basically one level for each of these vehicles hence the concept is not used enough.
Overall, StarFox 64 is a classic. Even if you haven't played a Star Fox game before, this will be an incredibly fun game to play.

Shadow the Hedgehog(GCN)
I must be crazy. I actually enjoyed this game. Due to such offerings as Sonic Heroes, and Sonic 06, going back to review this game had me thinking that I was walking into another mess of bad controls, wacky camera, and glitches galore, but thankfully, I was wrong. Sure, Shadow the Hedgehog has it's camera problems but only in boss battles. The controls are great, the camera fixes the game, and I didn't notice any glitches.
A great thing that Sonic Team did right this time, was the game layout of the levels. There are 21 levels in all, but there is no possible way to go through them all in one playthrough. A normal story play in this game includes six levels and a final boss. In playing through these levels, you will be confronted by a hero and a villain, each giving you an objective. If you complete one of their missions, that is the path you will take to the next level. In most missions you will be able to complete a light objective and a dark objective, but if you want to stay neutral, there is always the option to beat the level by collecting the Chaos Emerald.
Another notable feat, is the level design. These are some of the most innovative designs in a Sonic game to date. My personal favorite is the second Dark level. The whole level plays in a computer; through portals and light beams.
Overall, this is a highly overlooked gem. Sega finally did this series right and it's a shame that this went unnoticed, but to me, it a look at things to come.
